Undergraduate program

Learning Goals

1. Develop students ' competence in basic computer programming language, and introduce how Information Technology applies to business.

2. Receive an introduction to the basic concepts and applications of management information systems and understand the basic strategies necessary for electronic commerce.

3. Develop fundamental knowledge in operation s management and collect, organize, store, and transform business data into accurate, timely and understandable information that has a significant impact on organization al performance.

4. Develop students with general knowledge in the business management and marke ting discipline s .

5. Develop proficiency in principles of accounting, economics and financ e .

6. Help student determine what data is necessary to solve problem s; how the data can be obtained ; and how to use mathematical methods and models, statistics and information al aids to support managerial decision-making.

Outcomes Assessment Strategies

1. Students need to demonstrate proficiency in terms of programming skill and understand how an ERP system works by through successfully completing courses such as Computer Programming and Enterprise Resource Planning .

2. Students are required to understand management information system s and their applications, as well as the intention, framework, business models, infrastructure and trends of electronic commerc e through successfully completing courses such as Management Information Systems and Electronic Commerce .

3. Students need to obtain necessary skills to become proficient in building models and systems to improve business operations and decision-making skills through successfully completing courses such as Operations Management and Quantitative Methods .

4. Students need to demonstrate an understanding of basic management and marke ting theories , and show proficiency in analyzing competitive environment s and crea ting customer value for corporations through successfully completing courses such as Management, Business Management, Marketing Management, Marketing Research, Human Resources Management, Strategic Management, and Motivation and Leadership .

5. Students need to demonstrate an ability to develop, analyze, evaluate and interpret statements for business corporations, and make financial and investment decisions for corporations through successfully completing courses such as Accounting Principle s , Economics , Financial Management, and Financial Modeling and Application s .

6. Students need to be familiar with the use of quantitative techniques in decision making , and be able to assess the appropriate methods to analyze different types of data, apply those methods correctly, and draw conclusions that can be applied to specific problems through successfully completing courses such as Calculus, Statistics, and Quantitative Methods.

 

Graduate program

1. Develop students with professional management skills and with the ability to analyze issues in a managerial context.

2. Develop students with an understanding of the role and impact of Information Technology in organizations.

3. Develop students able to perform integrative analyses .

4. Develop students with leadership and communication skills .

5. Develop students with a deep understanding of accounting and financial knowledge .

Outcomes Assessment Strategies

1. Students will demonstrate competency in various management skills through successfully completing courses such as Operations Management , Innovation and Technology Management , For u m on Business Administration, Strategic Management, Marketing Management, and Organization Behavior .

2. Students need to demonstrate competency in analyzing the effect s of Information Technology on individuals, organizations and society through successfully completing courses such as Management Information Systems and Enterprise Resource Planning.

3. Students need to synthesize relevant information from multiple business functional areas to perform quantitative and qualitative analyses for effective decision making and problem solving. A master's thesis and successful oral defense of said thesis are required prior to graduation.

4. Students need to exhibit the ability to effective ly communicat e , set goals , and formulat e and implement strategies . Class discussion and cases studies assist in this process, and thus are mandated for many of the designed courses.

5. Students will gain the ability to evaluate the financial position of organizations by studying various financial statements while successfully completing courses such as Financ ial Management and Accounting .
